Afternoon Home Invasion Leaves Pet Dog Dead

THOMPSON – A brazen afternoon home-invasion left a family pet dead after three suspects forced their way into the home of a family with a child.

The three suspects knocked on the door of the home on Ash Street and asked to be let in. When the homeowners denied, they forced their way in. The two occupants and the child were able to escape through the back door and called police.

The suspects were in the home for a short time and then fled the area.

When police arrived, all the occupants were outside and unharmed but a dog was found injured in the back yard. It was taken to the vet but died as a result of its injuries.

The suspects are described as;

Suspect 1- Young male, approximately 6’0, 200lbs, wearing a grey toque with a red stripe, a grey jacket and winter boots.

Suspects 2 and 3- Male, dressed in dark clothing.

All of the suspects are described as Indigenous in appearance, and one of the suspects has a tattoo of a tear drop on his face.

Thompson RCMP along with the Forensic Identification Unit continue to investigate.
