WINNIPEG – AIR1, the city’s police helicopter, had a busy weekend fighting crime.
Early Saturday morning, officers in the chopper helped arrest two men after a fight and gunshots in the 600 block of Furby where a freshly fired gun was found hidden on the roof on a building.
And then early Sunday morning, AIR1 saw a suspect carrying what looked like a rifle at Osborne and Broadway. Ground units arrested two men from Calgary and seized an assault-style firearm a short time later.
