Air1 Tracks Car Leaving Scene of Break and Enter

WINNIPEG – Two Winnipeg men face charges for break and enter after Air1 responded to an alarm at a business and captured images of one of their vehicles leaving the scene.

On February 9 at approximately 2:48 a.m., Winnipeg Police received an alarm from a business in the 1700 block of Kenaston Boulevard. Air1 responded and located two vehicles at the rear of the business.

Air1 captured images of both vehicles and followed one, leading general patrol units to its location. A 20-year-old male was taken into custody in the 400 block of Carpathia Street. He was later released on an appearance notice.

At approximately 1:00 p.m., the second male, 20-years of age, was located and taken into custody. He was later released on an appearance notice.

Officers learned the suspects unsuccessfully attempted to pry open an entry door and an overhead door to the business.

Both males are believed to be responsible for a break and enter to a business in the first 100 block of Hangar Line Road on January 23, 2020. Tools and electronics were stolen.
