Alarming Increase in Improvised Firing Devices on Winnipeg Streets

WINNIPEG – Police say that there is a concerning increase in improvised firing devices on the streets of Winnipeg and after an investigation, arrested four individuals and seized several improvised firing devices while executing a search warrant on Furby Street.

Among the items seized were:

– Several improvised firing devices in various stages of completion

– Several parts for the manufacturing of improvised firing devices

– Identification documents and a retail membership card (unlawfully possessed)

One person was found to be in possession of a syringe loaded with morphine.

38 year-old William Beaulieu has been charged with:

– Weapons Trafficking

– Possession of an Identity Document (x6)

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

– Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice (x2)

32 year-old Clifford Jordan Beaulieu has been charged with:

– Weapons Trafficking

– Possession of an Identity Document (x6)

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order

– Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order (x3)

27 year-old Jeannine Danielle McKinney has been charged with:

– Possession of Scheduled Substance – Morphine

– Weapons Trafficking

– Possession of an Identity Document (x6)

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

43 year-old Tina Louise Malcolm has been charged with:

– Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice

She was also processed on an outstanding warrant for:

– Fail to Appear – Promise to Appear
