WINNIPEG – Another vehicle was stolen after it was left running on Pembina Highway.

On January 21 at 5:50 pm. a running car was stolen on Pembina Highway. Late that evening police spotted a vehicle matching its description driving without a license plate. It appeared to have a number of passengers inside and was driven by a man. When they started to follow it, the vehicle picked up speed and began to flee. They briefly gave chase but terminated a short time later out of concerns for public safety.

AIR1 arrived in the area and began searching for the vehicle. A short time later, police observed the stolen vehicle in a back lane of Furby Street near Westminster Avenue. The vehicle now appeared to be driven by a female who was the lone occupant.

Officers attempted to pull over the sedan; however, it fled at a high rate of speed. AIR1 immediately tracked the vehicle and police units on the ground disengaged. The vehicle was tracked as it drove erratically through the West End area and a tire deflation device (“Stop Stick”) was successfully used.

The stolen sedan eventually entered onto a footpath near Omand Park and became lodged in the snow where the female driver was taken into custody.

32 year-old Lori Nadine Sinclair has been charged with:

– Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000

– Operation of a Conveyance While Prohibited

– Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order (x2)

– Ride on a Motor Vehicle in a Dangerous or Unsafe Manner (Highway Traffic Act)

She was held in custody.
