Winnipeg, MB. – The Assiniboine Park Zoo will be closed to the public from Monday January 15 through to Sunday January 21, 2018 to conduct major maintenance, deep cleaning, and building refreshes throughout the property. The Zoo will re-open at 9 a.m. on Monday January 22, 2018.

“The closure will allow us to undertake a variety of maintenance projects in an efficient and timely manner without impacting the visitor experience,” said Archie Pronger, APC Head, Facilities & Capitol Projects. “The plan is to achieve a sizable amount of work during this period prior to our busy spring and summer seasons.”

Work planned for the closure week includes painting, re-finishing floors and deep cleaning in exhibits, back of house areas, and public buildings including Gateway to the Arctic, Tundra Grill, and others.
