WINNIPEG, MB – Beginning today the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will start visiting schools for “I Love to Read” month.
The Bombers said, Linebacker Thomas Miles and defensive tackle Faith Ekakitie will visit more than 6 classrooms to read stories with kids in grades 1-8 across the entire province during the month of February.
“We reach tens of thousands of youth each year through our various community programs, and I Love to Read month is always a highlight for both players and students,” said Kristen Cuma, Manager of Community Relations. “We’re honoured to once again be invited into their classrooms to share the love of reading.”
Last year, Winnipeg read to more than 1700 students in 35 schools to celebrate “I Love to Read” month, and visited more than 200 schools in the province.
Thomas Miles will be at Bernie Wolfe Community School today, February 6th.
