BOEING LAYOFFS

Manitoba Post StaffNews

WINNIPEG – The local aerospace industry is seeing layoffs. Boeing has notified workers that some of them are being let go.

About 400 Winnipeg jobs will be lost through voluntary and involuntary layoffs, as well as normal attrition. That’s about a-quarter of the Boeing workforce here.

The company says CoVid-19 has hit hard, especially the production of commercial aircraft components which is mostly what’s worked on in Winnipeg.
