Brandon Fire Closes Highway

Manitoba Post StaffNews

WINNIPEG – A business on fire in Brandon on Monday afternoon forced the closure of the Trans-Canada Highway.

The fire hydrant closest to the burning truck dealership on the south side of the highway was frozen so crews ran a hose across all lanes of the highway from the north side.

Bylaw officers and RCMP dealt with traffic while firefighters battled the blaze.

No one was hurt and the fire is under investigation.
