BRANDON, MB. – Brandon police had a busy traffic day with one accident involving a City transit bus and a stolen SUV and the other involved a 70 year old pedestrian.
A City bus was involved in a collision with a Mazda SUV. Police said that the SUV failed to stop at a stop sign and was travelling in excess of 120 KPH. The 33 male driver of the SUV suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. Police found out later that the SUV had been stolen just minutes before the collision and that the driver was impaired.
There was also collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian. That accident took place at Princess Avenue and 10th Street. The 70 year old female pedestrian was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries. The investigation is still ongoing and charges have not been laid.
