TORONTO – Toronto police say nine people are in hospital after a mass shooting incident Sunday night in the downtown Toronto neighbourhood known as Greektown.
Police spokesman Mark Pugash also confirmed that the suspected shooter was dead.
Paramedics said many of the victims, including a child, had been rushed to trauma centres.
Just this weekend Toronto police deployed dozens of additional officers to deal with a disturbing spike in gun violence in the city.

TORONTO — Police and emergency personnel services are responding to a shooting that reportedly involves multiple victims in the downtown Toronto neighbourhood known as Greektown.
Police have yet to release any confirmed details, but local television station CP24 is showing images of multiple ambulances and other first responders at the scene, with several people being treated by paramedics.
