WINNIPEG – The new NDP government in Manitoba will table its first budget this week.

Tuesday’s budget will do away with paper health cards and streamline the application process.

The New Democrats says the new plastic and digital cards will be more secure and make access to services easier.

Finance Minister Adrien Sala says the move is among many promises from last fall’s provincial election campaign which will be fulfilled in the budget.
