WINNIPEG, MB. – Bystanders disarm a man who was removed from a business in the 800 block of Main Street in Winnipeg.
Yesterday around 11:10 a.m., Winnipeg Police responded to a call regarding a male who was causing a disturbance and armed with a weapon. Police were told that the male had been removed from a neighbouring business a short time earlier. Bystanders disarmed the man and restrain him until police arrived.
Police said in a release today, the man experienced a medical emergency. Officers administered first aid, and contacted EMS. The subject, a male in his 30’s, was transported to hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Police believe this man had interactions with a number of people in the area prior to their arrival and is asking that anyone who may have come into contact with him, or has information to call 204-986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
