CFL ASKING FEDS FOR HELP

Manitoba Post StaffSports

WINNIPEG – The Canadian Football League has asked Ottawa for $150 million in financial assistance. Commissioner Randy Ambrosie says the help would come in three phases, starting with $30 million to manage the impact of CoVid-19 on the league. And then another $120 million if the whole CFL season has to be scrapped. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says talks are underway. The league is still hoping to stage a season but it has postponed the start of next month’s training camps.
