WINNIPEG – The victim in Winnipeg’s Christmas Day homicide has been identified as 26 year-old Tyler Evan Smoke.

Tyler was taken to the hospital at 7:15 on Christmas morning in critical condition but was pronounced deceased upon arrival.

The Winnipeg Police Service is asking the public for their help with determining Tyler’s whereabouts prior to his homicide on Christmas Day. Anyone who had recent contact with Tyler, or can provide information regarding his recent activities, is asked to contact Homicide Unit investigators at 204-986-6508.

Police are also asking anyone that has information on the homicide or video surveillance in the area of the 400 block of Victor Street to contact the Homicide Unit at 204-986-6508. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
