WINNIPEG – The city will be planning a series of controlled burns in a number of natural areas until June 14. The controlled burns will only be conducted un suitable weather conditions and will have appropriate safeguards in place.

The controlled burns have been conducted on Winnipeg’s tall grass prairies since 1986 in order to control weeds that invade endangered plant communities.
