City Services for November 11 and 12

Remembrance Day falls on a Sunday this year which may cause some confusion when using city services. Check below for a listing of what’s open and what’s closed on November 11 and 12, 2018.

To honour the men and women who have sacrificed for our country, Winnipeg Transit will be offering free transit service to armed forces veterans, current serving personnel, including cadets and reservists, and one companion. Those who wish to use this free service may do so by wearing a military uniform, or by presenting a military identification or CF1 card at the time of boarding.

On Sunday, November 11, Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Winnipeg Transit will be observing one minute of silence in honour of Remembrance Day. At 11 a.m., Transit operators will pull over and stop their buses at safe locations to recognize one minute of silence.

Libraries

All Winnipeg Public Library branches will be closed on Sunday, November 11 and Monday, November 12.

Leisure Centres

All Leisure Centres are closed on Sunday, November 11 and are open regular business hours on Monday, November 12.

Swimming Pools

All City of Winnipeg indoor swimming pools are closed on Sunday, November 11, with the exception of the Margaret Grant Pool, the Pan Am Pool and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex.

The Margaret Grant and Pan Am Pools will be open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex will be open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

All indoor pools are open regular business hours on Monday, November 12.

Animal Services Agency

The Animal Services Agency will be closed on Sunday, November 11, and operating on limited hours on Monday, November 12 – Noon to 5 p.m.

Cemeteries

Cemetery grounds at Brookside, St. Vital, and Transcona Cemeteries will be open for visitation from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on, Monday, November 12.

Cemetery offices will be closed on Monday, November 12.

Winnipeg Parking Authority

The Winnipeg Parking Authority will be closed on Monday, November 12.
