Collision in Powerview Leaves One Dead, One Critical

Manitoba Post StaffNews

POWERVIEW – A two vehicle collision on highway 304, about seven km south of Powerview-Pine Falls has left one person dead and another in critical condition.

The accident happened on January 4 at about 4:45 in the afternoon. RCMP believe that the collision occurred as a result of icy road conditions. A 54 year-old woman from Beausejour who was the lone occupant of the northbound vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The 66 year-old male driver and 31 year-old female passenger of the southbound vehicle suffered minor injuries but a 60 year-old female passenger is now in critical condition in the hospital.

Officers believe all of the occupants of both vehicles were wearing their seatbelts and that alcohol was not a factor in the collision.

Powerview RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
