WINNIPEG – Ikea has closed its local store again after another worker contracted COVID-19. It’s the second time this has happened in less than two weeks.
The company’s statement on its website is as follows…
Important Notice – Temporary Closure of IKEA Winnipeg
On September 7th, 2020, IKEA Canada learned that a co-worker at IKEA Winnipeg has tested positive for COVID-19. We are supporting our co-worker to ensure they have everything they need and hope for their full recovery soon.
The safety of IKEA co-workers and customers is our top priority and we are taking extensive precautionary measures to reduce any risk of further exposure, always following the guidelines of Manitoba Public Health
Out of an abundance of caution, IKEA Winnipeg is temporarily closed to complete a thorough deep clean and sanitization by a third party expert. We will reopen the store to customers and co-workers once the sanitization process is complete. We remain open on IKEA.ca
We thank you for your understanding. Please stay tuned for further updates at IKEA.ca/Winnipeg
