WINNIPEG – A personal care home in the city has seven cases of COVID-19.

Two residents at Parkview Place tested positive on the weekend and then five more came down with coronavirus on Monday after a worker at the home contracted the virus last week.

Outbreak protocols have been implemented including personal protective equipment for staff. Residents are being monitored for symptoms and their meals are being staggered.

Parkview is one of six personal care homes in Winnipeg currently elevated to critical or red under the pandemic response system.

The province announced two more deaths yesterday, a man and a woman, both of them in their 80’s. That puts the death toll at 18.
