Dauphin RCMP Seize Cocaine, Meth, and Weapons

DAUPHIN – Officers with the Dauphin RCMP seized cocaine, methamphetamine, and weapons following two traffic stops over the weekend.

On March 15, 2019, at 9:10 pm, officers conducted a traffic stop on Main Street in Dauphin. The traffic stop led to a search of the vehicle which resulted in the seizure of 764 grams of cocaine and various drug paraphernalia.

Police arrested 36 year-old Steven Gerald Catagas from Grandview, and remanded him into custody on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and for Failing to Comply with a Recognizance.

On March 17, 2019, at 3:40 am, officers conducted a traffic stop on 4th Avenue S.E. in Dauphin. The traffic stop led to a search of the vehicle which resulted in the seizure of 11 grams of methamphetamine, a quantity of Canadian currency and various weapons, including a conducted energy weapon and a can of bear mace.

Police arrested 29 year-old Preston Rodger Flatfoot from Dauphin, and remanded him into custody on charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon x 3 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
