WINNIPEG – The iconic Hudson’s Bay store in downtown Winnipeg has closed forever.
The company says the decision was made to shut the doors for good now instead of next February because of current COVID-19 restrictions on retailers only allowing the sale of essential items.
The future of the landmark building is unknown at this point.
The Bay’s Polo Park and St. Vital stores will remain open.
The closure comes 94 years, almost to the day, after the store opened to much fanfare in 1926.
