WINNIPEG, MB. – An extreme cold warning was issued this morning by Environment Canada for Winnipeg and we are expecting some very-cold wind chills at times over the next couple of days.
The bitterly cold air has moved into southern Manitoba behind a cold front which came through the province yesterday. We are expecting the wind chill to be near or below -40 at times through Christmas and Boxing Day.
Environment Canada is reminding people, on their website, to dress warmly and cover up as frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill.
