WINNIPEG – A long-term care home in the city dealing with a COVID-19 outbreak has asked relatives of residents to sit with their loved ones because there’s a staff shortage.

The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority says 42 of the 81 people living at Golden Links Lodge have tested positive for coronavirus.

The home called in paramedics on Thursday and two of them stayed through the night.

There have been outbreaks at 27 of Winnipeg’s 39 long-term care homes.
