PORTAGE LA PRAIRIE – RCMP in Portage responded to a vehicle in the ditch off Highway 305, near Road 62 North at 8:30 Sunday morning.

RCMP have determined that a 41-year-old woman, from Long Plain First Nation, was driving southbound on Highway 305 when she left the roadway and struck the side of a driveway, that caused the vehicle to become airborne.

The woman, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead on the scene. Police said no other people were in the vehicle.

The exact time of the accident is unknown at this time. Portage la Prairie RCMP, along with a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
