WINNIPEG – A fire claimed the life of one person and completely destroyed a home in the North End Sunday afternoon.

The home is on Polson Avenue between Sinclair Street and Airlies Street.

Several reports suggest there was an explosion or sound of an exlposion around 2:00 PM. When fire fighters arrived the house was engulfed in flames.

Crews were able to put the fire out, however the house was nearly burnt to the ground.
