Flin Flon Wildfire Worsens

Manitoba Post StaffNews

WINNIPEG – A fire north of Flin Flon has grown significantly this weekend.

An evacuation order has been issued for a number of homes and cottages in the area due to windy conditions in the weather forecast.

People in the region are being asked to be prepared to leave if the situation worsens.

At last report, the blaze was about 4,000 hectares in size.

The province says sprinklers are being set up to protect structures.

10 fire crews from Ontario will arrive this week to help fight the flames and air tankers from Saskatchewan are also assisting with suppression efforts.
