Four Winnipeg Men Facing Several Fraud Related Charges

WINNIPEG – As a result of an investigation on Thursday at a home in the 100 block of Hespeler Avenue police have charged several people and seized a number of items including the following:

  • A laptop and printer
  • Blank identification cards
  • Forged identification cards
  • Stolen identification cards
  • Blank cheque templates
  • A stolen cheque.
  • A device believed to be a small explosive.

Members of the Bomb Unit assisted with the safe removal of the device and it is now undergoing testing.

Christopher Lee Chartrand, a 32-year-old man from Winnipeg, has been charged with:

  • Possession of an Explosive Device without Lawful Excuse
  • Forgery (x6)
  • Possess Forgery Instrument (x2)
  • Possess Forged Document
  • Possess Counterfeit Mark (x3)
  • Possess Identity Documents (x7)
  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

John Frank Edwards, a 29-year-old man from Winnipeg, has been charged with:

  • Possession of an Explosive Device without Lawful Excuse
  • Forgery (x6)
  • Possess Forgery Instrument (x2)
  • Possess Forged Document
  • Possess Counterfeit Mark (x3)
  • Possess Identity Documents (x7)
  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Fail to Comply Recognizance
  • Fail to Comply Probation Order

Jean-Claude Matthieu LaPierre, a 29-year-old man from Winnipeg, has been charged with:

  • Possession of an Explosive Device without Lawful Excuse
  • Forgery (x7)
  • Possess Forgery Instrument (x2)
  • Possess Forged Document
  • Possess Counterfeit Mark (x3)
  • Possess Identity Documents (x7)
  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Fail to Comply Recognizance
  • Fail to Comply Probation Order

Michael Roderick Allan Paquet, a 37-year-old man from Winnipeg, has been charged with:

  • Possession of an Explosive Device without Lawful Excuse
  • Forgery (x6)
  • Possess Forgery Instrument (x4)
  • Possess Forged Document
  • Possess Counterfeit Mark (x3)
  • Possess Identity Documents (x7)
  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000

A 39-year-old woman fromWinnipeg has been arrested for:

  • Possession of an Explosive Device without Lawful Excuse
  • Forgery (x6)
  • Possess Forgery Instrument (x2)
  • Possess Forged Document
  • Possess Counterfeit Mark (x3)
  • Possess Identity Documents (x7)
  • Possess Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000
  • Possession of Firearm, Restricted/Prohibited Weapon or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order

A 40-year-old woman from Winnipeg has been arrested for:
