WINNIPEG – A gang feud appears to be the cause of two murders that took place two days apart in November 2019.

On November 2, 2019, at 1:25 a.m., emergency personnel responded to a shooting at a nightclub in the 200 block of Bannatyne Avenue. A deceased male was located and identified as 23 year-old Jamshaid Wahabi.

On November 4, 2019, at 11:45 p.m., emergency personnel responded to a shooting at a residence in the first 100 block of Tim Sale Drive. A deceased male was located and identified 20 year-old Rig Debak Moulebou.

Members of the Homicide Unit continued with both investigations

It has been determined that Moulebou was responsible for the murder of Wahabi, and Moulebou was murdered in retaliation. Both homicides, along with continued violence, are a result of a feud between two gangs.

Investigators have since made three arrests in relation to the homicide of Moulebou:

– On January 22, 2020, 23 year-old Arnold Mbaka Nduta of Winnipeg, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder.

– On February 28, 2020, 23 year-old Abdullahi Abdulrehman Mohamed of Winnipeg, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder.

– On March 2, 2020, 23 year-old Manuchehr Haroon of Brandon, was arrested and charged with First Degree Murder.

Homicide Unit investigators are asking the public for any information regarding a black truck and a black Mercedes crossover that had been in the area of Moulebou’s homicide in the first 100 block of Tim Sale Drive on November 4, 2019.
