Great Crate Challenge at the Winnipeg Renovation Show

WINNIPEG, MB. – The Great Crate Challenge is taking place for the first time ever at the Winnipeg Renovation Show this January at the Convention Centre. This DIY project challenges five local influencers and tastemakers to use all the creativity they’ve got to transform two basic crates into a masterpiece, using only a $50 budget, products provided by Rust-Oleum, and their imagination.

The Great Crate Challenge will allow visitors the chance to win one-of-a-kind creations and bring them home, with each influencer to give away their projects on their social media platforms leading up to the show, with pick-up available at the shows end.

“The Great Crate Challenge brings together influential members of the community for a fun DIY project for the first time at the Winnipeg Renovation Show,” said Jenn Tait, show manager for Marketplace Events, producers of the Winnipeg Renovation Show. “It’s a great opportunity to encourage creative thinking, provide inspiration to show attendees and demonstrate that you can really create something beautiful out of nothing. We’re excited to have this feature in Winnipeg for the first time and can’t wait to see the results!”

Visitors will be able to view the creations at Booth 721 on the North wall in Hall A near the Help Desk, featuring entries designed and submitted by:

Shayna Wiwierski of A Pop of Colour

Vanessa Ogibowski of The Trendy Files

Cassidy Coutts of Brains and Bronzed

Monique Andrew of Style Hunter Fox

Amanda Buhse of Coal and Canary

“We are beyond thrilled with the quality participants confirmed for the Great Crate Challenge this year,” continues Tait. “Each has an eye for design and a unique personal style, so we can’t wait to see how everyone transforms a pair of simple crates into something unique that our attendees can bring home for themselves!”

The Winnipeg Renovation Show runs from Friday, Jan. 12 at 12 p.m. to Sunday, Jan. 14 at 6 p.m. at the RBC Convention Centre.
