WINNIPEG – RCMP are investigating a suspected arson that has destroyed a historic theatre in northern Manitoba.

Mounties in The Pas responded to reports of a fire at the Lido Theatre early Monday morning.

The town’s firefighters, including some from a nearby First Nation, were able to extinguish the blaze within a few hours.

The theatre is nearly 100 years old.
