Icelandic Fest Goes Virtual

Manitoba Post StaffNews

WINNIPEG – The Icelandic Festival of Manitoba will be held virtually this year because of CoVid-19.

The Gimli event usually sees about 50,000 visitors over the August long weekend but this year’s attendance could be much higher as the 131st Islendingadagurinn goes online for the first time.

Among the festivities – virtual running races, a virtual Icelandic fashion show and a virtual sand castle competition.

The festival will also feature a pre-recorded series of music from Iceland.
