IKEA Recalls SLADDA Bicycle

WINNIPEG – IKEA has recalled the SLADDA bicycle due to a fall hazard.

The SLADDA is a light grey, aluminum framed one-speed bicycle that comes in both 26″ and 28″ models. The word IKEA is printed at the bottom of the seat tube near the crank. The article number is printed on a sticker at the bottom of the down tube.

The issue is the belt drive component of the recalled bike may break, posing a fall hazard to the rider.

The article numbers associated with the SLADDA are 303.267.28 (26″) and 603.267.36 (28″). The recalled bicycles were sold in Canada from August 2016 to January 2018.

IKEA did note that as of May 18, 2018, the company has received no reports of incidents in Canada or in the United States, and no reports of injuries.
