Knife-Wielding Suspect Threatens Driver on Pembina Highway

Manitoba Post StaffNews

WINNIPEG – Police needed their tasers to take down a violent man armed with a knife in the intersection of Pembina Highway and McGillivray Boulevard.

Last night at 9:0 P.M. police responded to the call after the suspect stabbed the hood of a car in the intersection and threatened to kill the driver.

When police arrived he was in the intersection in a “fighting stance”. He dropped his knife and advanced towards the officers, refusing to comply with their orders, so a taser was deployed to safely take him into custody.

35 year-old Jeremy Brad Barker has been charged with:

– Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm

– Possession of a Weapon

– Mischief Under $5,000/Obstruct in Enjoyment

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order

He was detained in custody.
