WINNIPEG – Police have arrested a man who stabbed two people in different situations, he was also unlawfully at large.
Police said on November 4th at approximately midnight, a man was waiting for a bus in the area of Graham Avenue and Edmonton Street when he was approached by another man who began yelling and swearing. The suspect pulled a knife and held it up to the victim’s neck, robbing the victim of his mobile phone and wallet before fleeing. The victim was not injured.
Then at approximately 12:10 a.m., the suspect boarded a bus in the area of Graham Avenue and Donald Street where he pulled a knife and began yelling racial slurs at an unidentified black male on the bus. The suspect threatened to stab the man, which caused him to begin to leave the bus.
The suspect then disguised his face and tried to follow the man off the bus but was stopped by two men (witnesses still on the bus) who intervened. A struggle ensued and one of the men was stabbed in the lower body. The suspect was taken into custody by police a short time later.
Devon Evan Charles Henderson, a 23-year-old man from Winnipeg, has been charged with
- Robbery
- Uttering Threats – Cause Death or Bodily Harm
- Assault with a Weapon
- Possession of a Weapon
He also had an outstanding parole warrant for – Unlawfully at Large
