Man Arrested After Threatening RCMP Via Social Media

FISHER BRANCH – A 30 year-old man from Fisher Branch faces numerous charges after he threatened police on his social media account.

RCMP began investigating the suspect and caught up with him the next day when he was involved in a collision with another vehicle. When officers searched his vehicle, they found two swords, ammunition and several notebooks. He also had six knives in his possession.

Subsequently, a search warrant was obtained on his residence and officers seized a rifle, ammunition, computers, cellphones and notebooks.

Brian Hrominchuk was arrested for Uttering Threats, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Unsafe Storage of Firearms.

RCMP continue to investigate.
