WINNIPEG – On Monday, Winnipeg Police arrested a suspect wanted in connection with a stabbing back in March of this year.
The stabbing occurred on March 28th. Emergency personnel responded to the 400 block of Sargent Avenue due to a report of an injured man that had walked into a business asking for help.
The man, 42-years-old, was taken to hospital in critical condition with stab wound injuries. He was later upgraded to stable condition.
Police say they learned that victim had been inside his suite on Balmoral Street when another resident (of the same building) entered his suite armed with a knife and a glass shard from a mirror. An altercation ensued and the victim was stabbed several times but was able to get out and get help.
The man arrested has been identified as Oliver Daniel Murdock, a 53-year-old man from Winnipeg, he has been charged with:
– Aggravated Assault
– Possession of a Weapon (x2)
– Fail to Comply Condition Recognizance by Judge/Justice
He also had a second warrant for arrest, this one for an incident that happened on January 13th. A 54-year-old man was struck over the head with a pipe on Elgin Avenue. Murdock has been charged with the following:
– Assault Cause Bodily Harm
– Assault with a Weapon
– Possession of a Weapon
