WINNIPEG – The Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) has taken over an officer involved shooting that occurred this morning.

At about 9:45 am. police responded to a home on Colony Street. Police fired their weapon and one man was shot. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition and died as a result of his injuries.

Winnipeg Police will not be releasing any more information as the IIU is now responsible for the investigation.
