Man Dies in Second Winnipeg Police Shooting This Week

WINNIPEG – Last night (January 11) at about 7:50 pm., Winnipeg Police shot an armed man.

The incident occurred in a vacant lot at Sargent and Sherbrook, where officers approached a man armed with a weapon. During the confrontation the suspect was shot by police. He was transported to hospital in critical condition and later died.

No further details will be provided by police as the Independent Investigation Unit of Manitoba (IIU) has assumed responsibility for the investigation.
