WINNIPEG – A violent confrontation on Waterfront Drive left a 24 year-old man hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds.

Early this morning, police responded to a report of shots fired on Waterfront Drive at Heaton Avenue.

A vehicle containing multiple occupants was in the area and was approached by a second vehicle. Shots were fired by occupants of the second vehicle into the first, at which point the second vehicle fled the area.

The 24 year-old victim then attended to hospital on his own and was treated for multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers have confirmed property damage as a result of the firearm discharge.
