WINNIPEG, MB. – The first U Sports Top 10 rankings for theTrack and Filed season are out and both Manitoba Bisons, men’s and women’s, are ranked in the Top Ten.
The men’s team is number four while the women’s squad is number six entering the busy 2018 schedule.
The University of Manitoba will host the 2018 Canada West Track and Field Championship from February 23-24 at the James Daly Fieldhouse and both, men’s and women’s, teams are poised to challenge for a conference team title.
The 2018 Canada West Track and Field Championship will have all eight schools (Alberta, Calgary, Lethbridge, Regina, Saskatchewan, Trinity Western, Victoria, and Manitoba) competing in men’s and women’s events.
Both Track and Filed teams will be in competition throughout the next two months prior to the Canada West championships as there will be nine meets prior to the championship, highlighted by the ninth annual Bison Classic hosted by the Herd on February 2-3.

- January 19-20: Golden Bear Open at U of Alberta (Edmonton)
- January 26-27: Jack Johnson Classic at U of Minnesota (Minneapolis)
- February 2-3: 9th annual Bison Classic at James Daly Fieldhouse (U of M campus)
- February 9-10: SDSU Invitational at U of South Dakota State (Brookings)
- Wednesday, February 14: Grand Prix #2 at James Daly Fieldhouse (U of M campus)
- Saturday, January 17: UND Tune-up meet at UND (Grand Forks)
- February 23-24: 2018 Canada West T&F Championships at James Daly Fieldhouse (U of M campus)
- March 8-10: 2018 U SPORTS T&F Championships at U of Windsor
