Manitoba PostNews

WINNIPEG, MB – Members of the Manitoba Hydro Board resigned today with the exception of Conservative MLA Cliff Graydon.

According to several reports, Chair Sanford Riley said the board had learned the government would be removing him as chair and that government had lost confidence in the board.

“For over a year we have attempted to meet with the premier to resolve a number of critical issues related to the finances and governance of Manitoba Hydro, including matters related to Hydro’s efforts to further develop its relationship with Indigenous peoples,” said Chair Sanford Riley in a release on behalf of the Board.

The board members who resigned are Steve Kroft who was vice-chair, Dayna Spiring, Allen Snyder, Annette Trimbee, Jennefer Nepinak, Michael Pyle, Dave Brown, and Earl Edmondson.

No official response from the Premier’s office at this time. Manitoba Post will continue to follow the story and provide details as they become available.
