Manitoba Moose End the Weekend With a Win

WINNIPEG, MB – Wearing their special Polar Bear jersey’s, The Manitoba Moose end the weekend on a winning note at home with a 3-2 win over Iowa.

Buddy Robinson opened up the scoring at 1:19 of the game. Stoykewych blasted a one-timer past Niklas Svedberg to push the lead to 2-0. Both Moose goals happened on their first two power play chances in the game. Iowa finally scored, in the final 45 seconds of the period, ending the first with the score at 2-1.

Manitoba added their third at 4:42 into the second period courtesy of Francis Beauvillier, who finished off a nice pass from Michael Spacek to send Beauvillier in alone. Iowa got back within one courtesy of a goal by Zack Mitchell with 3:32 left in the period.

The scoring chances were few in the third period, with limited shots on net. Comrie was only forced to make eight saves while Svedberg stopped 12. The Wild would press the rest in the final minute, but the Moose kept Iowa off the board for the 3-2 win.
