WINNIPEG, MB. – The Manitoba Moose beat Iowa 4 -3 last night for their 25th win of the season and with 25 wins in 35 games, the Moose set a franchise record for the fewest number of games needed to win 25 games.

The Moose got off to a quick start, scoring just 33 seconds into the first as Patrice Cormier got his 15th goal of the season. Manitoba scored again with 5:06 left when Sami Niku’s goal made it 2 0 for the Moose.
The Moose made it a 3-0 lead 2:41 into the second courtesy of Brody Sutter finishing off a nice setup from Jimmy Lodge. Iowa finally got on the board with a power play goal from Justin Kloos. The Moose were making many visits to the penalty box keep the special teams busy in the second. There were a couple of quick goals to end the second period. Michael Spacek put one in the net with 2:36 left and Sam Anas of Iowa scored with 46 seconds left, ending the period 4 – 2.
The Wild’s Gerald Mayhew, put one in at the 9:40 mark of the period which was the only scoring in the third. The Moose were able to hold on for the remainder of the game for their 25th of the season.
