WINNIPEG, MB. – The Manitoba Moose lose to the San Jose Barracuda in front of 6,928 fans at the BellMTS Centre Saturday night.

San Jose took the lead very quickly, 1:10 into the first, as the puck took an unfortunate bounce around Michael Hutchinson behind the net, and went right to the stick of San Jose’s Filip Sandberg for a tap-in. Hutchinson was on top of his game after that goal and kept the Barracuda to just one goal at the end of the first period.

Manitoba tied things up again with a power play at 5:06 into the third. Nic Petan and Sami Niku went back and forth with the puck before Niku roamed into the circle and tucked a shot in off the far post. The game remained deadlocked until Wiederer scored for The Barracuda with 5:06 to go in the game. That held up as the game-winner as Manitoba’s run of 16 straight games with a point came to an end on the 3-2 loss.
