WINNIPEG, MB – A Manitoba professional race car driver has come along way from his days back on the farm.
Manitoba born farm kid, David Richert, will be given a chance to experience a powerful Le Mans Prototype race car at a circuit in Spain next week.
Richert will drive Inter Europol Competition’s 420 horsepower Ligier JS P3 around Circuito de Navarra in the north of Spain.
Inter Europol Competition is a Polish owned race team, based in Germany, that is fresh off winning the VdeV LMP3 Championship for the 2nd straight year.
Richert, who recently became one of the only Canadians to ever drive a race car through the streets of Monte Carlo at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix weekend, is excited for this unique opportunity.
“Driving a race car like this is not something that happens every day and it’s a great opportunity for me to build towards a successful 2018 race season. A huge thanks to everyone at Inter Europol Competition for the invitation to do this.” – David Richert
Richert previously competed with Inter Europol Competition in 2014 and 2015 in various Formula Renault 2.0 events throughout Europe and they are pleased to provide Richert with this experience.
“We are happy to give David a chance to try our Ligier LMP3. David’s years of experience in our Formula Renault will help him adapt quickly to this car and we’re excited to see what his impressions are.” – Michael Keese (Inter Europol Competition)
