WINNIPEG – The Province informed the Government of British Columbia that Manitoba stands willing to provide any required flood-fighting equipment to help fight record high flood waters in the Interior region.

Minister Ron Schuler said in a news release, “The people of Manitoba know just how devastating floods can be, and we will be working with our counterparts to ensure any and all equipment needed will be put to good use.”

“We have considerable experience with floods and flood-water management and are pleased to be able to offer any assistance our B.C. counterparts may need,” said Schuler.

It is expected the nature and scope of Manitoba’s assistance will be finalized in the coming days, with deployment to occur as soon as possible, the minister added.
