Moose Lose Matinee Match To Milwaukee

WINNIPEG, MB – In front of 8,430 fans for an afternoon game in Winnipeg, the Manitoba Moose lose to the Milwaukee Admirals 3 – 2.

The Admirals got on the board first, just 56 seconds in, as Frederick Gaudreau scored off a rebound. Milwaukee added to its lead at 7:15 on a goal from Trevor Murphy. Then, Gaudreau scored his second with 4:23 left in the period when Milwaukee was on a five-on-three power play.

Admirals goalie Anders Lindback, who made seven saves in the first, continued to be strong in the second period. The Moose finally scored at 6:32 of the period as Brendan Lemieux wired a shot past Lindback. The Moose worked hard throughout the second, but couldn’t get one past Lindback, after 40 minutes it was 3-1 Admirals.

Manitoba outshot Milwaukee 16-6 in the third, looking to get back in the game. Mike Sgarbossa scored at 8:27 with Buddy Robinson picking up an assist on his backhand pass. The Moose comeback bid fell short as Milwaukee holds on for the 3-2 victory.
