The Moose penalty kill had a busy night to start the game, handling three penalty kills in the first. Goaltender, Jamie Phillips, kept Grand Rapids of the scoreboard in the first, stopping 13 shots.

There was just one goal in the second period and it came 11:18 into the period as Matt Lorito put Grand Rapids on the board. The Moose scored a few minutes later but it was immediately waved off due to a high stick. The Moose continued to apply pressure throughout the second, but were not able to put one in the net.

Despite some good chances to tie up the game Manitoba just couldn’t beat Grand Rapids goalie, Jared Coreau. The Grand Rapids netminder made 28 saves as the Moose suffered their second shutout of the season. Jamie Phillips made 37 stops in the 1-0 loss.
