MORDEN, MB. – Police responded to a call around midnight reporting an unknown man banging on the door. When police arrived they discovered a man walking with an unsteady gate who turned out to be intoxicated. He couldn’t provide an explanation of where he was going and dispatch confirmed that he was under an order not to consume alcohol. He was arrested and held until sober and will appear in court in April.

Police are asking for the public’s help in locating the perpetrator of a hit and run in the afternoon of March 3. The driver of a 2012 brown Chevrolet Equinox was parked in the parking lot of 205 9th Street South in Morden where he noticed damage to his rear bumper.

Police received a report of a hit and run to a vehicle that occurred on March 3rd around 1:00 pm in the parking lot of Tim Hortons in Morden. The driver returned to his 2004 black Audi A4 and noticed damage to the driver’s front fender.

Around 10:10 pm on March 7, police stopped a vehicle on Highway #3 east of Morden as a result of information received that the occupants were in possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking. The two male individuals inside the vehicle were arrested and a subsequent search of the vehicle located a quantity of methamphetamine in the trunk. The vehicle was towed to Morden Police Service where a more thorough search was conducted resulting in police finding a glass bong along with 200 medical syringes and rubber tubing, consistent with methamphetamine use as well as other drug paraphernalia. As a result, a 17 year old youth is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth), Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Meth), Fail to Comply with a Probation Order (abstain from possession of alcohol), and Fail to Comply with an Undertaking (abstain from possession of drugs). The 55-year-old male is charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth) and Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (Meth). Both individuals were remanded into custody awaiting their next court appearance.
